The first step is a look within,
an exclusive contemplation of my very self
What are the wild waves saying?..

Once I dared to dive into my deep dark sea and instead of adventures of marine life I discovered that it simply couldn’t flourish in its water. Long ago it was abandoned by me and since then devastated by those who I often trusted the most.

Do you dare to descend below the surface?

I am a chronic overthinker. My thoughts are constantly buzzing around my head. They annoy me, they hurt me, they are often intrusive.

Receiving love can be much more challenging than giving.
It’s a spiritual practice of accepting someone’s purest and most powerful energy. One has to be ready to let it flow through them, or the risk of choking is high.

I learn how to receive love.
I step out of resistance.
I learn how to receive love.

To those who remain silent whilst they have beautiful stories to tell. To those who live behind the scenes. To those who are afraid of their own light and darkness.

about
I am a London-based artist, working at the intersection between textiles, installation and the moving image.

My imagination and urge for creation are driven by my vulnerable part. When I find it hard to process my emotions from what I see, hear and experience, my mind drifts away and escapes to fantasies and imaginary scenes. When I delve deep into my work, I distract myself from the external world and connect with my power and innate wisdom. I am translating my inner feelings, fears and dreams into visual metaphors using textiles and an image of a female body. Through figurative prints, abstract mark making, and mixing and shaping the layers of fabric I am telling my little stories. They are alive with magical possibilities and mysteries discovered through self-contemplation. I only hope my work can contribute to nourishing and shaping collective imagination and make one discover and reconnect with their sensitive side.

Performative approach to flat pattern cutting and its implications for exploration of the sculptural potential of the dress
‘Let the student keep constantly in mind, as we do, that our quest is great beyond all other’.

In my research I am relating the concept of performativity to pattern cutting and active engagement with material. I am particularly interested in how a performative approach to working with pattern blocks on the stand can serve as an ice breaking activity for beginner level fashion students.
My research project proposes to introduce students to the basics of pattern making in a playful performative manner. Instead of following the rigid rules it offers to play with seams, darts and shapes on paper blocks with the use of free drawing techniques and further shape the garment on the stand by twisting, cutting, draping and layering fabric using the drawn lines.
